Who We Are

Senior Solutions was founded in 1990 to meet the needs of older individuals and their families in Allentown, Bethlehem, Easton and surrounding areas. In 1992 Caring Companions was established to better serve seniors needing help in the home.

Darla Heivly, MS, CMC

Darla holds a Masters degree in human development and family relations from West Virginia University and a Bachelors degree in psychology from Muhlenberg College. She has been with Senior Solutions since 1997, first as a care manager and then as president. She has held the CMC designation (Care Manager Certified) since 1999. Darla has been an adjunct professor of psychology at Lehigh Valley area colleges and universities since 1988. She is a member and former board member of NAMI (National Alliance for the Mentally Ill) and has many years experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities. Darla is a member of the National Association of Professional Geriatric Care Managers and is a member of it's Mid-Atlantic Chapter. She is a past vice-president of the former Philadelphia Chapter of Professional Geriatric Care Managers and served as the chapter liaison for certification.

Lori M. DeHaas, RN, CMC

Lori graduated from Allentown Hospital School of Nursing in 1986. She was previously employed at Easton Hospital for 13 years before joining Senior Solutions in 1999. Lori’s experience is not only in nursing, but also in utilization review, discharge planning, and case management. She holds the CMC certification and is a member of the National Association of Professional Geriatric Care Managers and it's Mid-Atlantic Chapter.

Evelyn Lipschutz, MBA, CSA

Evelyn graduated from Temple University in 1980 with an MBA in health administration. She has had over 25 years of experience in the healthcare field. Evelyn was previously employed by Thomas Jefferson Hospital, St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children, and as business manager for a medical specialist’s practice. She has been with Senior Solutions since 2004 and completed a comprehensive course through the Society of Certified Senior Advisors. This has earned her the designation of CSA.

Patricia Kender, RN, BSN, CMC

Patricia graduated from the University of Delaware with her Bachelor’s degree in Nursing in 1985. She was previously employed by Lehigh Valley Hospital and worked in Orthopedics and Cardiac Nursing. Patty joined Senior Solutions in 2000 performing assessments prior to becoming a care manager in 2005. She is a certified geriatric care manager and is a member of the National Association of Geriatric Care Managers and it's Mid-Atlantic Chapter.

Wendy M. Rapoport, MSW, LSW, LCSW

Wendy holds a masters degree in social work from New York University and is a licensed social worker in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Before moving to the Lehigh Valley, she worked for 19 years in New Jersey in both outpatient mental health and with seniors and their families. She joined Senior Solutions as a care manager in April of 2007.
