Who We Are
Who We Are Senior Solutions Geriatric Care Management and Caring Companions were founded by two women who have dedicated their careers to improving the lives of the elderly. Sisters Shelia Saunders and Aimee Stewart created Senor Solutions in 1990 to meet the needs of older individuals and their families in Allentown, Bethlehem, Easton, and surrounding areas. Although they have retired, their tradition of excellence remains in the services provided by our long-time staff.
Darla Heivly, M.S., CMC
Darla has a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Muhlenberg College and a Master’s degree from West Virginia University in human development and family relations and is a certified care manager. Darla has been an adjunct professor of psychology at Lehigh Valley area colleges and universities since 1988. She is a member and former board member of NAMI (National Alliance for the Mentally Ill) and has many years experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities. Darla is a member of the National Association of Professional Geriatric Care Managers and Nexus for Geriatric Planning. She is vice president of the Philadelphia Chapter of Professional Gariatric Care Managers.
Lori M. DeHaas, RN, CMC
Lori graduated from Allentown Hospital School of Nursing in 1986. She was previously employed at Easton Hospital for 13 years before joining Senior Solutions in 1999. Lori’s experience is not only in nursing, but also in utilization review, discharge planning, and case management. She was recently awarded her CMC certification.
Evelyn Lipschutz, M.B.A., CSA
Evelyn graduated from Temple University in 1980 with an MBA in health administration. She has had over 25 years of experience in the healthcare field. Evelyn was previously employed by Thomas Jefferson Hospital, St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children, and as business manager for a medical specialist’s practice. She has been with Senior Solutions since 2004 and recently completed a comprehensive course through the Society of Certified Senior Advisors. This has earned her the designation of C.S.A.
Patricia Kender, R.N., B.S.N.
Patricia graduated from the University of Delaware with her Bachelor’s degree in Nursing in 1985. She was previously employed by Lehigh Valley Hospital and worked in Orthopedics and Cardiac Nursing. Patty joined Senior Solutions in 2000 performing assessments prior to becoming a care manager in 2005.
Wendy M. Rapoport, MSW, LSW, LCSW
Wendy holds a masters degree in social work from New York University and is a licensed social worker. She recently moved from New Jersey where she worked for 19 years in both outpatient mental health and with seniors and their families. She joined Senior Solutions as a care manager in April of 2007.
